In both the building design and construction drawing process, we use state-of-the-art technology, developing 3-dimensional models and graphics. BIM – short for Building Information Modeling – provides accurate building representation and coordination of construction elements. Previously, a building would first be designed graphically to visually represent the appearance, and then construction documents would be prepared in CAD – not connected to the computer or other models previously prepared.  BIM streamlines the services provided by integrating the design and documentation process.  It is a powerful program that takes virtual construction elements to build the building. As BIM becomes industry standard in future years, it will serve as a collaborative tool to integrate architecture, engineering and building products into one fully coordinated document that will enable more accurate cost estimating and reduce problems during construction; it is the wave of the future.
